The Coastal Plain Shooting Academy offers 17 state-of-the-art shooting lanes with electronic target systems. Our shooting ranges are all indoor, which means you can visit the range no matter the season or forecast.

Requirements:
    • Proper photo identification based on your citizenship status.
    • Appropriate attire, including closed toe shoes, ear and eye protection.

  • Twelve 25-Yard Ranges

  • Five 10 Yard Ranges

  • Five Lane Pistol Tactical Range

Facility Rules
  • You are allowed to bring your own firearms and ammunition. Please speak with a member of our team if you are unsure if your firearm or ammunition is allowed.
  • To shoot at Coastal Plain Shooting Academy, you must bring proper identification that proves your citizenship status.
  • All firearms must be unloaded and cased until you are on the range, it is prohibited to open carry.
Before you enter the range…
  • All shooters are required to check in at range rental upon their arrival.
  • All shooters are required to present all personally owned firearms (unloaded) and ammunition to CPSA staff, at check in.
  • All bags and cases are subject to inspection by CPSA staff. All personally owned weapons and ammunition must be approved prior to use on the CPSA ranges.
On the Range…
  • Shooters may use only those weapons that they can control and fire in a safe manner.
  • CPSA’s knowledgeable staff will assist you if you’re not familiar with the weapon.
  • Weapons must be fired in an aimed and controlled manner. No “hip” shooting. CPSA reserves the right to define “controlled manner”.
  • No explosive, unsafe or offensive targets. CPSA staff reserves the right to define “unsafe or offensive”.
  • Rental firearms must use ammunition purchased from CPSA.
Indoor Range Rules
  • Control the muzzle at all times when handling, un-casing, shooting, and re-casing firearms.

  • When on the firing line, keep the muzzle pointed down range.

  • Treat all firearms as though they are “loaded.”

  • All firearms must remain cased or holstered anytime you’re not on your firing lane.

  • Hearing and eye protection are required for entry on CPSA ranges.

  • No cross-lane firing. Shoot only into the target on your lane.

  • All shooters must shoot in a controlled manner. CPSA reserves the right to define “controlled manner.”

  • Do not pick up any item from the floor, with a weapon in your hand.

  • Do not go forward of the RED firing line for any reason. If you need something forward of the RED firing line, please ask CPSA staff for assistance.

  • Formal firearms instruction may only be provided by CPSA approved instructors.

  • Stay inside of your bay for your own personal protection.

  • All firearms must have sights.

  • Shotguns and AR15/AK type receivers must have a shoulder stock. Shooters must use them.

  • Immediately obey all commands to “Cease Fire”. Everyone is a range safety officer. If you see something unsafe, please say so immediately and notify CPSA staff.

  • CPSA staff has the final say when it comes to interpretation of the rules, safety and range use. The CPSA staff is here for your protection.

Dress Code
  • No heels or open toe shoes.
  • No low-cut, cropped, or tank tops permitted. No facial hoods or coverings are to be worn inside.
  • We recommend comfortable sneakers, t-shirts, and prescription eye-glasses if necessary.
Age Requirements
  • All Coastal Plain Shooting Academy guests must adhere to the following age requirements:
    • No child under the age of 12 years old is permitted.
    • All shooters under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
    • All shooters under the age of 18 must be accompanied on the same lane by a parent or legal guardian.
Requirements
  • All firearms are required to be unloaded and cased except when you are in your shooting lane.
  • Any visitor wishing to visit the range must obtain a range or membership card.
  • Be honest when discussing your previous firearm experience, background, and knowledge.
Prohibited on the CPSA ranges:
  • No steel core, “Green Tip”, armor piercing, steel jacketed, tracer, incendiary, black powder or black powder substitute ammunition (Only standard, SAAMI specification pressure level cartridges/ammunition are allowed.)
  • No aluminum or steel cases (Only cartridges in brass cases can be used on CPSA ranges.)
  • No Shotguns, handguns or “Any Other Weapons” firing multiple projectile shells. Such as “Bird”, “Buck”, multi ball or multi disc shot shells (Shotguns and handguns may only be fired with single projectile shells/cartridges, ie. “Slugs”.)
  • No Binary, Forced Reset triggers, “Bump Stocks”, BMF Activators or any other modification that increases the rate of fire. (Fully automatic fire is only allowed if the shooter has completed a CPSA Fully Automatic Training Course.)
  • No shooter, under 21 years of age, may operate fully automatic firearms on CPSA ranges.
  • No weapon more powerful than the 30-06 Springfield is allowed. CPSA staff reserves the right to approve or disapprove all personally owned weapons.

Training Classes

Coastal Plain Shooting Academy is an indoor, all-weather shooting facility with 17 state-of-the-art shooting lanes at distances of 25 yards and 10 yards. To promote firearm safety, skills, and knowledge, we offer a variety of training classes to encourage shooters to learn and grow their shooting abilities. Our certified trainers lead classes by encouraging accuracy and confidence in a safe and controlled environment.
